Full weekend passes are sold out, but more importantly individual tickets to all dances and all workshops will be available at the door! The late-nights and Sunday night have a good chance of selling out, so plan to arrive early if you want to make sure you get in.

      The Back Room is located at Glen Echo Park, in Glen Echo Maryland. The room is located directly behind the Spanish Ballroom, which is directly next to the picnic area in the center of the park. Facing the ballroom, turn left and walk to the side of the building where you'll see a couple of stairs, hopefully a stand-up sign, and there is the entrance to the "Back Room." Here is a map:

      Getting to Glen Echo

      By Public Transportation: Glen Echo Park is served by the Route 29 Ride-On bus, which leaves from both the Friendship Heights and Bethesda Metro stations on the Red line. This bus is available weekdays, Saturday, and Sunday. The bus trip from Friendship Heights or Bethesda to Glen Echo takes approximately fifteen minutes and leaves every 30 minutes, on the hour and half hour. Bus fare is $1.10 during peak hours, 90 cents off-peak, and only 25 cent with a metrorail transfer. Be sure to have exact change or don't expect to get any back. The Glen Echo bus stop is located at the Amoco gas station at the end of Goldsboro Road. The stop is lighted and there is a public phone available. From the bus stop it is a 5-minute walk along MacArthur Blvd. to the upper entrance of the park. NOTE: The last bus leaves at 9:00 pm on Friday and Saturday.

    • Coming in early on Thursday night? We've got a special edition of our weekly Thursday Night Blues in The Back Room. DJs will be spinning tunes for you from 9:00pm until 12:30am. (We usually only go till 11:30pm!)

      As always, we have a beginner drop-in lesson from 8:15pm to 9:00pm

    • There will be a beginner Blues dance lesson (included with paid admission) from 8:00pm - 8:30pm. Then we'll be kicking off the weekend with a great band (Stay tuned!) until 11:30. Immediately following the band's last set will be the Newcomer Jack and Jill Preliminary Round.

      The newcomer Jack & Jill contest is free to all full-weekend and dances only packages. Contestants need to register online or as they enter when they check in. Winners receive dance passes as well as other great prizes. Immediately following the competition, auditions for the Intermediate Level track will begin with the instructors.

      This wonderful late night venue is located directly above Union Hardware across the street from a CVS pharmacy. Do NOT park in the CVS parking lot, as they will tow. Parking for the late nights is free on the streets, and there is a parking garage on the opposite corner from DuShor behind the car dealership. This is free as of 10pm on on Friday and Saturday nights.

    • Late nights are always great at this second floor studio in the heart of Bethesda, MD. That's only because dancers like you and me show up and ask each other to dance until we look up and there's someone new. It's 5am and the sun is getting ready to wake up. Even though the party is over the weekend is still just beginning.

    • 10:45am - 6:00pm — $60 (full day), $15 a la carte for afternoon classes.
    • Day of workshops with multiple tracks followed by the The pre-lims for the open Jack & Jill.

      The contest will happen immediately following the last workshop at Glen Echo. Dancers will be grouped into heats and will change partners twice to deejayed music. Finals will be announced during the first band break during the main dance. And the finals will happen during the second band break! Winners receive a cash prize and dance passes.

    • There will be a beginner Hand dance lesson (included with paid admission) from 8:00pm - 9:00pm. Then we're so excited to welcome Seth Walker and his trio in the grand Spanish Ballroom. They'll be playing a mix of blues and swing to keep you dancing until midnight. Just like last year, the Open Jack and Jill Final Round will be held around the second band break.

    • When normal people hear there will be dancing until 5am (or later), they don't quite get how much fun it is when a good DJ sets the room abuzz. The right DJ will wake you up and make you beg for more even when you know you want to get up for workshops the next day. It's worth it. You can always sleep when it's actually time to sleep.
