Workshops!

We're doing something new this year with our workshops. Most of the day will consist of three tracks containing one intensive workshop each from 11am to 3:30pm. You get to spend each day with dancers at your level and one of three sets of world-class instructors. You won't have to worry about getting to the best part of the class in the last 5 minutes and then having to end. The instructors decide when to take breaks and get to know you and what you need to take your dancing to the next level. We'll also have a few random awesomeness classes at the end of the day to bring everyone back together and explode your collective minds.

ALL LEVELS classes are $15 a la carte.

You may also purchase a full day of workshops for $60.

The Intensive-only class on Sunday for Beginners is $30.

* Please note, this schedule is subject to change.

Please select which track you believe you belong in during the registration process. Please list a reference so we can get as much placement taken care of before the weekend as possible. Please note that track placement is not guaranteed through the registration process. Even if a reference is listed, instructors have the ability to adjust placement as they see fit to help you get the most out of the weekend's workshops. For those do not know the references listed, there will be auditions for track placement on Saturday morning before the class. This is only necessary for Intermediate and Advanced tracks.

Beginner

This track is for students who have been dancing and taking classes in blues for 3 months to a year. Beginner dancers should be familiar with open, closed, and close-embrace positions and basic blues vocabulary.

Intermediate

This track is for students who have been dancing and taking classes in blues for 1 to 3 years. Intermediate dancers should have mastery of the basics, and the ability to smoothly and comfortably integrate them through an entire song. Intermediate dancers have started to focus on movement quality, and the aesthetic sense of the dance. You understand what it means to have clear, consistent connection throughout your dancing. You should be comfortable transitioning smoothly between different movements, rhythms, and styles of blues.

Advanced

This track is for students who have been dancing and taking classes in blues for 3 years or more. Advanced dancers display fluency with the dance, which includes excellent movement quality, blues aesthetic, and various types of connection. You stopped thinking about patterns ages ago. Now you just react, physically, to any style of blues music and any partner.

*Please note, track placement is not guaranteed through the registration process. Even if a reference is listed, instructors have the ability to adjust placement as they see fit to help you get the most out of the weekend's workshops.*
