IMPORTANT NOTE: None of the dances are sold out! Tickets will be available at the door for every single dance below. Yes, Friday, Saturday and Sundays -- including the late nights -- are all open with many tickets available at the door. Sorry, but we are not allowed to pre-sell tickets to these individual dances. The only event that is sold out is the Saturday afternoon BBQ competition.

    The Back Room is located at Glen Echo Park, in Glen Echo Maryland. The room is located directly behind the Spanish Ballroom, which is directly next to the picnic area in the center of the park. Facing the ballroom, turn left and walk to the side of the building where you'll see a couple of stairs, hopefully a stand-up sign, and there is the entrance to the "Back Room." Here is a map:

    Getting to Glen Echo

    By Public Transportation: Glen Echo Park is served by the Route 29 Ride-On bus, which leaves from both the Friendship Heights and Bethesda Metro stations on the Red line. This bus is available weekdays, Saturday, and Sunday. The bus trip from Friendship Heights or Bethesda to Glen Echo takes approximately fifteen minutes and leaves every 30 minutes, on the hour and half hour. Bus fare is $1.10 during peak hours, 90 cents off-peak, and only 25 cent with a metrorail transfer. Be sure to have exact change or don't expect to get any back. The Glen Echo bus stop is located at the Amoco gas station at the end of Goldsboro Road. The stop is lighted and there is a public phone available. From the bus stop it is a 5-minute walk along MacArthur Blvd. to the upper entrance of the park. NOTE: The last bus leaves at 9:00 pm on Friday and Saturday.

    The Bumper Car Pavilion is located at Glen Echo Park, in Glen Echo, Maryland. The pavilion is situated in the middle of the park and can easily be seen from the picnic area outside of the Spanish Ballroom. Here is a map of the park area:

    This wonderful late night venue is located directly above Union Hardware across the street from a CVS pharmacy. Do NOT park in the CVS parking lot, as they will tow. Parking for the late nights is free on the streets, and there is a parking garage on the opposite corner from DuShor behind the car dealership. This is free as of 10pm on on Friday and Saturday nights.

  • We are back in our favorite late night venue where blues history happened with the battle of Mr. Bacon and Monsieur Tofu last year. Will they make another appearance? I would show up just for the DJs alone, and to work up a healthy appetite for some not-so-healthy food.
    DuShor is located a few blocks from the Bethesda metro station and across the street from the Tastee Diner, this will be the place to be Friday and Saturday late night.

    This cozy local park has a fun playground, and a field where we would love to get a game of kickball (soccer or other) going. There will be dancing in the recreation building. Hopefully you'll be able to find it by the smell of good BBQ.

  • Saturday afternoon will be the BBQ battle with both a vegetarian division and a meat division. Food should be ready around 3pm. Only full-weekend registrants are invited; we will not be selling tickets at the door. We need to know how many people to feed!

    DCLX can do it, so why can't we? For additional space for more dancers, we're really looking forward to dancing int his fun almost urban location. It's located a few blocks south of the Friendship Heights metro station, directly above Paul's liquor. Booeymonger's, located at the corner of Jennifer and Wisconsin, is open until 1am for late night eats before the dance. Chadwicks, a Cheers-like bar, is at the same intersection, and its kitchen closes promptly at midnight. Parking is on the street and in the neighborhood.

    This cute little park is adjacent to the intersection of Wilson Blvd. and N. Patrick Henry Dr. in Arlington, VA. Word has it that there's a swimming pool next to the park, and we're not sure what the admission price is. So, if you feel like cooling off, bring your bathing suit.

    The best way to get here is to take Route 66 from either Washington or the Beltway.

    From Washington:

    1. Take I-66 West towards Virginia to exit 69 for Sycamore St.
    2. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto N. Sycamore St.
    3. Sycamore will turn into Roosevelt Blvd., and follow it until it ends at Wilson Blvd.
    4. Turn left onto Wilson Blvd., and the park will be on your right after three blocks.

    From I-495 in Virginia (Outer Loop):

    1. Be in the left lane after the exit for Georgetown Pike / GW Parkway.
    2. Take the left exit 45B to merge onto VA 267 towards I-66 East.
    3. Follow 267 and merge onto I-66 East.
    4. Take exit 69 toward Washington Blvd., Lee Highway.
    5. At the light at the end of the exit ramp, proceed straight onto Washington Blvd.
    6. Then at the next light, turn right onto Sycamore St.
    7. Follow directions from #3 above.

    From I-495 in Virginia (Inner Loop):

    1. Take the right exit for I-66
    2. Follow directions from #4 above.

  • Stacy brought the house down Saturday night at DCLX. We have been looking forward to having her back ever since. Sundays offer up the unique experience as everyone winds down. For some people it's their favorite, and we organizers will be so happy to just dance without worrying about what's next.
